Hyland Acquires Nuxeo:

A New Era of Digital Asset Management and Digital Content Management

A Q & A with Genus CEO Alex Makovetsky

What happens when a leading content services provider acquires a digital asset management powerhouse? You get the start of a new era in digital asset management (DAM) and digital content management (DCM).

It’s no secret that these two giants coming together as one brings lots of excitement and opportunities to our industry. We sat down with one of our Founders and CEO, Alex Makovetsky, to get his take on the merger.

Q: What are you most looking forward to?

I’m excited about what we can now offer current and future customers. This opens the door for us to combine our cloud-based experience and content services platform knowledge to better service customers in DAM and provide extended service offerings like comprehensive video asset management (VAM).

Q: What challenges do you see?

I think when a traditionally content services vendors acquires a DAM platform, there is a learning curve in understanding customer needs in the DAM space. Genus has been instrumental in implementing Nuxeo solutions and our expertise can help bridge the gap to implement solutions so customers can meet timelines and project success on time.

Q: What do you hope to see from this acquisition?

I believe that we can build a successful partnership with Hyland as we have with Nuxeo. Partner programs and partner ecosystems are a huge benefit, and I want to continue this same rapport moving forward so customers can still get the same, if not better service from their platforms and Genus.

Well, there you have it. Lots of exciting change coming. If you are ready to take the next steps in video or digital asset management for your organization, please contact us to set up a customized demo today.
